Nazneen Bukhari, an 11-year-old student from Al-Rahim School, Lyari, has made history by becoming the youngest known female author to write and publish a psychological crime/thriller novel. Her debut book, Fragments of the Bleeding Sky, now available on Amazon KDP, surpasses the previous record set by India’s Janaki R Menon, who published her thriller at age 12.
Nazneen began writing at age 9,
driven by her love for mystery and storytelling. Despite facing physical
challenges and sleepless nights, she completed a gripping novel that explores
trauma, memory, and justice.
The book has been reviewed and praised by the Amazon editorial team for its emotional depth and narrative maturity, calling her work “a testament to the power of young voices in literature.”
Hailing from Lyari, a
culturally rich yet underrepresented part of Karachi, Nazneen’s success is a
beacon of hope for young writers everywhere—especially girls from underserved
communities.
With her record-breaking
achievement, Nazneen has not only made Pakistan proud but also set a new
standard for youth literature across South Asia. Her journey is just beginning.
